Mental Health Support
My posts on mental health are available here
This resource guide follows anti-carceral philosophy as well as psych abolition goals. People with chronic illness such as ME have been severely injured and killed in psych ward and I therefore feel it is irresponsible to recommend traditional psychiatry without proper warning. Some basic readings below can help explain this viewpoint.
I want to stress that being against coercive or carceral psychiatry does not mean refusing to access or discouraging access of mental health treatment. It simply means prioritizing consentual and non-coercive treatment by empowering patients to self-advocate. It also means prioritizing shared knowledge, empathy and community building through peer support networks.
